Disney's Art of Animation from Mickey Mouse to Beauty and the Beast by Bob Thomas Hardcover Book Signed by the Author and Signed with Sketches by 8 Disney Artists (Walt Disney/Hyperion, 1991). Bob Thomas revised his classic book on Disney animation (originally published in 1958) for this handsome hardcover second edition, which includes a Lenticular-affixed purple cover featuring Mickey Mouse. This lavishly illustrated book is a superb look at the entire history and technique of Disney animated filmmaking. This book is signed by Bob Thomas and eight of the animators who produced Beauty and the Beast (which had then been recently released), including Glen Keene, supervising character animator on the Beast; Chris Wahl, supervising character animator on Lefou; Andreas Deja, supervising character animator on Gaston; Nik Ranieri, supervising character animator on Lumiêre; Will Finn, supervising character animator on Cogsworth; Dave Pruiksma, supervising character animator on Mrs. Potts and Chip; Tony Anselmo, supervising animator on Wardrobe; and Ruben Aquino, supervising character animator on Maurice. Each artist added a sketch of their character by their signature. The book has no dust jacket as published, with 224 pages. It measures approximately 8.75" x 11.25". A Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity verifying the legitimacy of the signatures is included.
