    Alice in Wonderland Pastel Concept Drawing by Ken Anderson (Walt Disney, 1951). Disney's Alice in Wonderland began development in the early 1940s. Disney Legend inductee Mr. Ken Anderson (1909 - 1993) was one of the character artists and stylists on this film. This rare early concept art of Alice is from the collection of Mr. Charles "Cap" Palmer (1901 - 2005). He worked on early story development on Alice in Wonderland for almost five years. He went on to become a screenwriter. This is a rare pastel on black paper of 10" x 12" that is glued to a 16 field 5-peghole animation sheet. The words under the stunning artwork read, "Ballet Sequence Frustrations Theme Advanced by Elusive Dresses." This is reportedly handwritten by Cap Palmer with help from Aldous Huxley. Alice is is 8". The backing 16 field sheet is torn along the edges. Slight tear in left hand corner. A clear cel is over the original pastel artwork. One of the earliest piece for this film's development we have seen. Good condition
