Alice in Wonderland King of Hearts Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1951). "Your Majesty, members of the jury, loyal subjects... and the king." in a laugh-out-loud sequence, the meek King of Hearts gestures politely to the White Rabbit that he may also be recognized as part of his own court. This hilarious and delightful hand-inked and hand-painted original production cel can be seen at the 1:07:23 mark of the 1951 Disney classic Alice in Wonderland. This film stands out as a unique work in the Disney animation canon as it saw mild success on its initial release and developed an explosive cult following later on in the 70s. It is widely considered the best of the many film adaptations of Lewis Carrol's Alice books. This lovely cel from the film is trimmed to fit a printed background for presentation purposes. Taped to the background, the cel otherwise show minor handling wear. The little king measures 3.5" x 3.75" on the 8" x 6.5" cel. The piece is in Very Good condition.
