Alice in Wonderland Alice Production Cel and Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1951). "I give myself very good advice... but I very seldom follow it." says the girl with the curious imagination. Alice's curiosity and yearning for something new leads her to a mysterious realm known as Wonderland. As she traverses through the wacky world, Alice finds herself appreciating the ordinary life that she had abandoned. Alice in Wonderland was the thirteenth animated feature film from Walt Disney Productions, released into theaters on 7/28/51. It would become one of the biggest cult classics in animation history, eventually gaining much deserved critical praise and becoming one of the more popular Disney films which is ironic considering its initial reception. Put forward in this lot is one of the most amazing Key Master setups that we have seen. This is from the inside of the White Rabbit's house after he tells Alice to, "Go get my gloves!" Alice goes upstairs to the White Rabbit's bedroom to fetch the gloves. Here she says, "If I were a rabbit, where would I keep my gloves?" You will see this Key Master around the 21:46 time mark in the film which is noted on the piece as scene 15, sequence 06. Background artists on the film include; Ray Huffine, Ralph Hulett, Art Riley, Brice Mack, Dick Anthony, and Thelma Whitmer. The cel was hand-inked and hand-painted on 16 field acetate and paired with the Key Master background. The background was painted in gouache on 16 field size background board. Background has edge wear and pin-holes in the corners which is covered by the 20" x 17" mat the art is housed in. Cel is in Fine condition. Background condition is Very Good.
