Aladdin's Lamp (Mighty Mouse) Production Background Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1947). The story of Aladdin has been told in cartoon form many times over the years. Here are two original hand-painted backgrounds from the Mighty Mouse version, directed by Eddie Donnelly and released on 3/28/48. The first painting is of a "solid gold" 18K streamlined car that can be seen in online viewings of the short at the 1:57" mark. What a wild image! It's noted as 18A in the upper right. The second background painting is noted as 57, and shows a beautiful image of the royal balcony, seen at the 5:44 mark as Mighty Mouse returns the princess who had been abducted by a cat. Both are painted with gouache/watercolor on skimmed 12 field boards; both have Terrytoons studio stamps in the upper peghole margins and on the reverse sides. There are a few minor flyspeck stains on the car painting. Overall condition is Very Good with minor edge wear and tape marks in the bottom corners.
