A Star is Hatched Emily the Chicken Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Warner Brothers, 1938). "I too shall be a famous actress. I just know I will, really I do!" says Emily the chicken in this cartoon. This short was directed by Friz Freleng, written by Tedd Pierce, and animated by a young Robert McKimson. This would be Friz Freleng's last Warner Brothers short before he briefly left for MGM to work on "The Captain and the Kids" series. This character is thought to be an early inspiration for McKimson's Miss Prissy character in his later Foghorn Leghorn shorts. This is a rare sequence of three 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings of Emily showing off a range of emotions. Graphite with slight blue, red and yellow pencil highlights. Nice image sizes of 4" - 5". Minor handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition.
