101 Dalmatians Snowscape Production Background (Walt Disney, 1961). Cruella De Vil races furiously down the snowy morning roads of the English countryside in this jaw-dropping hand-painted original production background from the 1961 Disney classic 101 Dalmatians. Seen at the 1:01:31 mark of the film, this lovely image actually has a calming air once you remove the crazed villain from the scene. Contrasting with the scene's context, this lovely 16 field snowscape is rendered masterfully in gouache, and it comes with its two 16 field Key Master xerograph cels providing the textural linework overlay prevalent throughout the film. This technique was first done for the making of 101 Dalmatians, giving the film the unique and innovative stylization for which the film is praised. Backgrounds on the film are attributed to the great Al Dempster, Ralph Hulett, Anthony Rizzo and Bill Layne, inspired by the color stylings of Walt Peregoy. This piece shows minor handling and edge wear, and it contains production notes denoted scene and sequence on the bottom edge. The condition is Very Good.
