    Description

"The Art of Tim Burton" - "Lady in Blue" Illustration (c. 1979-80). Tim Burton's art exhibit at MoMA in New York City attracted over 800,000 visitors. The exhibit had over 700 pieces on exhibit, including drawings, sketches, paintings, photos, storyboards, puppets, maquettes, costumes, and personal ephemera. This was the third-most attended exhibit at MoMA ever. He next US art exhibit will be in Las Vegas on 10/15 through 2/15/2020 at the Neon Museum. It's said that Mr. Burton's boyhood idols were Dr. Seuss and Roald Dahl. He went to California Institute of Arts in Valencia, California, and from there was hired by Walt Disney Studios. After that, his career has skyrocketed, with many hit movies under his name. This is a rare Tim Burton original artwork of a "Lady in Blue," in pen and ink and color marker on paper. Nice large image of 11" on torn-out spiral-bound sketchbook paper measuring 9" x 12". The art is unsigned, but clearly in Burton's unique style; it comes from the collection of a former college roommate. Minor handling and spiral binder border. Stunning artwork from the hand of Tim Burton. Very Good condition.
