"The Art of Chuck Jones" Bob "Dorf" Doerfler Gag Drawing with Staff Signatures (Warner Brothers, 1949). "It's not too late to change your mind poor child" says the father to the bride before she marries one Bob "The Dorf" Doerfler. Bob Doerfler was an in-betweener in the Chuck Jones animation unit. He was a bucktooth chain-smoking guy who was close friends with Ken Harris. Bob was the blunt of many in-studio gags. This is an outstanding look inside Termite Terrace: a Chuck Jones original pen and ink gag drawing given to Bob Doerfler at the time of his wedding. His buck teeth clench the ever-present cigarette hanging out of his mouth; The original Chuck Jones painting is on light board of 12" x 10". Chuck Jones has hand-signed his artwork in the bottom right corner. The piece also has the Chuck Jones Unit staff members signatures of Phil Monroe, Ken Harris, Abe Levitow, Benny Washam, Dick Jones, Pete Alvarado, Dick Thompson, Jack Phillips, Lloyd Vaughan, Bob Gribbrock, Maxine Mygatt, and Marilyn Wood. Great fun images, with sizes of 4" and 6". Slight staining on borders, pinholes in corners, with minor handling wear. In Good condition.
