Description"Mickey's Magic Lamp" Good Housekeeping Illustrations by Tom Wood (Walt Disney, 1940). A superb pair of drawings featuring Mickey, Pluto, and a transparent genie, as featured in the Clyde Geronimi-directed short, Pluto's Dream House. The cartoon had a working title of "Mickey's Magic Lamp" which was changed right before its release on 8/30/40. These two panels by artist Tom Wood were the first of five used on the Disney page in the July, 1940 issue of Good Housekeeping, two months before the short was released. The vibrantly colored artwork is in gouache on trimmed board, with images measuring 8" x 7" and 8.5" x 6.25". Both pieces are nicely matted and framed together with Plexiglas, for an overall size of 18.5" x 25". Fine condition.
