"Donald Duck as Snow White" Studio Drawing Gifted to Adriana Caselotti (Walt Disney, 1944). Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered at the Carthay Circle Theater on 12/21/37. Adriana Caselotti (the voice of Snow White) attended the premiere. She then took off on a Press junket across the US to promote this film. This is the only original piece of Studio Artwork in her personal collection. It is a detailed drawing of Donald Duck as Snow White! Underneath the image is an "Ode to Adriana" that reads, "Your olives and your lemons, your scotches and your ales, I know that have helped you grow feathers on your tail. Your Bergdorf Goodman fineries, babushkas and bows too, please toss them all around you, or you simply won't be you. Your black and twinkling eyes, dear, your funny little ways, I know we all remember those Snow White Caravan days." The inscription is signed Dick. Dick Creedan was in Disney Publicity, so this may be from his hand, or possibly Dick Mitchell, who was on the 1944 Publicity Tour, which also included Donald's "voice," Clarence Nash. A fun image done in graphite and color pencils on paper, measuring 9". Framed with glass and matted, with a mat opening of 7" x 12"; overall frame size is 15" x 19". An unusual and important piece of Snow White history! Fine condition. From the Estate of Miss Adriana Caselotti - the Voice of Snow White.
