(Playhouse Pictures, 1959) (2) Rare original production cels featuring "Linus" and "Lucy" from a Ford Motor Company TV Commercial. In early 1959, the Ford Motor Company licensed "The Peanuts" for a series of color television commercials for its automobiles and intros for The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show, which it sponsored. These two production cels are two of the earliest representations of The Peanuts in animated form. After a successful run with Ford and several other commercial products, The Peanuts characters began their own series of Television and feature film productions in 1965. The untrimmed animation cels measure 10 x 12.5 in. The total image size of the two characters is 4.25 x 7 in. The cels have been placed on a color copy background. Cels are in very good condition with some paint loss in both characters.
