Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga Volume 1 First Print BGS 9.2 White (Shueisha, 1997) Dust Jacket 8.5. "Game history is interwoven with human history, starting in the Egyptian empire five thousand years ago. Years before the phenomenon of the trading card game, the manga Yu-Gi-Oh! debuted in issue #1417 of the famous magazine Weekly Shonen Jump on September 30th, 1996. Back in its first appearance, the manga series created by Kazuki Takahashi (1961 - 2022) saw our first introduction to Yugi Muto, a young kid fascinated by games. Yugi's life is forever changed when, after years, he's finally able to solve the mysterious Millennium Puzzle, enabling the spirit known as Yami Yugi to take control of his body. The well-known series had Yugi play somber games before the first appearance of the famous Duel Monsters, with him playing a "push your luck" game in which contestants must use a knife to stab money on their own hands and can only keep just as much as they pierce in the first chapter. Talk about high stakes! Offered in this lot is a 1st print issue of tankobon volume 1. It includes the first seven chapters of the series.
