Heritage Comic Auctions and UncommonCon Team Up for Major Auction Event

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Comic Auctions (HCA) announced today that they have negotiated the placement of a major auction event with UncommonCon, one of Texas' largest comic and media festivals, to be held November 23-25, 2001 at the huge Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas.

"We're very excited about teaming up with UncommonCon", says John Petty, Director of HCA. "The premiere of UncommonCon last November was actually quite good, and with their relocation to the beautiful Wyndham Anatole facility, we expect this year to be far stronger both in terms of attendance and exhibitor participation. Dallas has been lacking a major convention for years now and we believe that UncommonCon can step in to fill that void admirably. An auction event is something new that hasn't been seen in Dallas before, so there's a lot of excitement being generated among buyers of high-end comics, art, and comics-related collectibles. We've already started getting commitments for some major consignments, so this auction should have something for everyone." For more information on UncommonCon, call 972-871-0407.

Highlights of the UncommonCon auction so far include a major selection of Gaines File Copy EC comics, including the #3 set of MAD #1-23 (all graded by GCG ? the MAD #1 is a 9.6, #5 is 9.4, and the set includes many issues in 9.8), an impressive selection of original art, including two famous complete stories by Jack Davis and Wally Wood, a Johnny Craig boxing cover, and many other high-grade rarities.

Heritage Comic Auctions is actively seeking collections to purchase outright or for consignment to upcoming auctions or private treaty sales. HCA will auction rare, high-grade comic books, as well as vintage comic and animation art and comics-related collectibles, using a variety of Internet venues, as well as live auctions at major conventions nationwide. HCA's interim website, www.HeritageComics.com, allows visitors to submit their want lists, or join a mailing list to receive special offers and advance notice of upcoming auctions and other events. But Heritage plans to vastly expand its Internet presence over the coming months, and those wishing a preview need only pay a quick visit to its affiliate's site, www.HeritageCoin.com.

The Heritage name is recognized worldwide for unparalleled selection, quality, value, expertise, financial strength and technological and numismatic leadership. Year 2000 sales exceeded $150 million and assets were approximately $30 million as audited by Arthur Andersen & Company. HeritageCoin.com is the Internet's most popular and highly trafficked rare coin site with over 39,500 registered members, 7,000 daily visitors and approximately 75,000 unique users per month. HeritageCoin.com is the only coin site ever chosen by Forbes Best of the Web, and also won the most recent Numismatic Literary Guild award for Best Numismatic Internet Site. Heritage Comic Auctions is pleased to bring the same resources, integrity, and customer-service orientation that have fuelled the success of Heritage Numismatic Auctions to the comic book and original art field.
