Dr. George Friedmann to Join Heritage World Coin Auctions
Dallas, TX: Dr. George Friedmann, a well-known numismatic expert in Brussels, Belgium, is joining Heritage World Coin Auctions as a consultant and specialist in Eastern European coins. A native of Transylvania (the Hungarian-speaking part of Romania), Dr. Friedmann has been collecting for more than 30 years, and has extensive knowledge in this field, as well as a general knowledge of world gold and silver coins of the 19th century. He also works as a consultant and trader for a firm in Brussels where he resides.
"After fleeing the communist regime of Romania in the 1950s," explained HWCA Director Warren Tucker, "George acquired German nationality. He joins Marc Emory as the only other member of Heritage's staff who can speak more than five different languages. He has been a friend to Heritage staff for nearly thirty years, and we are pleased to welcome such an old friend as the newest member of our numismatic staff."
Dr. Friedmann will divide his duties between the two firms, doing most of his work for Heritage over the Internet, except for visits to the USA for larger collections and coin shows. Dr. Friedmann will be available at the Heritage table at the Pittsburgh ANA World's Fair of Money,TM August 18-20.
