Description

Carl Barks Only a Poor Old Duck Painting Original Art (1974). Uncle Scrooge transfers all his hard cash to the great outdoors in this recreation of the classic cover to Four Color #386, the first full-length Scrooge story. This is the seventh of eight paintings Barks completed based on the Money Lake, and quite possibly the best of the bunch. The glow of the setting sun adds a real depth to the art, making the cartoon ducks appear almost three dimensional. The art is painted in oils on masonite, marked on the back as #6-74, with an image area of approximately 16" x 20", and has been professionally matted and framed (without glass) to an overall size of 26" x 30". It's in Excellent condition, ready to make the ultimate fan of Uncle Scrooge a very happy camper. From the Kerby Confer Collection.
