Description

Carl Barks Dam Disaster at Money Lake Painting Original Art (1986). The first solo Uncle Scrooge story, "Only a Poor Old Man" from Four Color #386 was the inspiration for this magnificent large-sized oil painting, featuring Scrooge, Donald Duck, and nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. In it, a crestfallen Scrooge watches helplessly as his enormous fortune in coinage slips down the stream. The detail is simply amazing -- just try to count all the coins! -- and the colors are lush and beautiful. If Barks is your thing (and who isn't a Barks fan these days), this is the ultimate treat. The art, numbered CB OIL 131, is painted on masonite, measures approximately 25" x 20", and is ornately matted and framed to an overall size of 33.5" x 28.5". It is in Excellent condition. From the Kerby Confer Collection.
