Description
Fantastic Four #1 (Marvel, 1961) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white pages. It's the comic book that essentially started the Marvel Age, setting the stage in late 1961 for the "birth" of Spider-Man, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Iron Man, and the X-Men in the ensuing months of 1962 and 1963. The premiere issue of Fantastic Four is the second most valuable Silver Age book of all, ranked behind only Amazing Fantasy #15. Not that many copies have been certified to date in higher grade, and this is the nicest unrestored copy we've offered in over five years. Featured is the origin and first appearance of Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, Invisible Girl, and The Thing, collectively Marvel's first superhero team. Jack Kirby provided both the cover and interior art, as he would for the next 100 issues in a legendary run. Overstreet 2010 VF 8.0 value = $21,000.
