Description
The Amazing Spider-Man #2 Twin Cities pedigree (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM+ 9.6 White pages. Probably the most desirable comic book of the entire Twin Cities pedigree, this is the book that made the strongest impression on most of our staff when we got our first glimpse of the Gary Dahlberg collection. Heritage hadn't offered this book in a grade above NM- 9.2 before (and just once in that grade)!Pull up other copies of this issue in our online archives, even other high-grade copies, and you'll see what sets this one apart: the bold red background is not the least bit faded, the Spidey vignette at upper left is clean, and the black portion at the middle of the right edge is completely unblemished.
Back in 1995 a Comic Book Marketplace panel of experts ranked #2 the toughest issue of the #1-50 run to find in VF or better. Even if you're in the select group that owns this issue in such a high grade, the likelihood seems very strong that this would be an upgrade to your present specimen.
The issue has the first appearances of the Vulture, with cover and interior art by Steve Ditko. Overstreet 2010 NM- 9.2 value = $10,000. CGC census 4/11: 4 in 9.6, none higher. From the Gary Dahlberg Collection.
