Description

The Yellow Kid in McFadden's Flats #nn (G. W. Dillingham Co., 1897) Condition: Apparent FN+. The first comic book (of sorts) to feature the Yellow Kid. The 196-page squarebound publication features a narrative by E. W. Townsend with reprinted black-and-white Sunday comic-strip art by R. F. Outcault. Restoration includes rebuilt spine, color touch, and pieces added to the cover. Overstreet notes, "A Fair condition copy sold for $2,901 in August 2004. A restored app VF sold for $10,500 in 2005. A copy in FN+ (spine intact) and loose back cover sold for $17,000 in 2006." Overstreet 2010 GD 2.0 value = $7,000; FN 6.0 value = $14,000.
