Synopsis:
One of the scientists working for Mr. Rich has built a working but untested time machine. Intrigued, Richie seeks out the scientist and asks if he can help test it right then. Richie, the scientist and the scientist's son Timmy are sent back in time to meet Blackbeard the pirate, who promptly imprisons them and decides to hold Richie for ransom.

This story is continued in "A Taste of Money" immediately following in this issue. The scientist's assistant, Uriah Heap, is an obvious reference to the Uriah Heep character in Charles Dickens's classic novel David Copperfield.
Synopsis:
Richie "returns" to the present, where he learns that Heap has tricked them all to get the ransom money. Richie and the others were merely drugged rather than transported through time. However, in an attempt to escape, Richie damages the time machine and the real Blackbeard is brought forward in time. Blackbeard agrees to help Richie rescue his friends.

As mentioned in the story, this is a sequel to another text story detailing Minnie and Oscar's first date, entitled "Big Date". The earliest indexed instance of that first story is in Chic Young's Dagwood Comics (Harvey, 1950 series) #134, although since that issue was published well after the first indexed instance of the sequel story, there must be an earlier instance of "Big Date" that has not yet been indexed.
Synopsis:
Two boys scheme to let Gerald join their club so that Lotta will do all the work of building their clubhouse. With the clubhouse built, they kick Gerald out, so Lotta gets revenge.
Synopsis:
Dot's Uncle looks just like her, but can't get a job because of his size. When he tries out for a job as a horse racing jockey, they learn that the horse loves Dot but doesn't like Tod. Eventually Dot discovers that the horse likes her dotted dress, so she paints dots on Tod's jockey uniform and he wins the race.
Synopsis:
Richie takes Gloria and her Aunt on a tour of the Rich estate, but Gloria gets upset when his descriptions of various parts of the estate sound to her like bragging.
