Synopsis: May and Chick quit their small-time dance act and open The Silver Dollar club near the Big Bend Dam construction site. May's sexy dancing is one big attraction; Chick rakes in money from liquor and gambling. May is unhappy at the sleazy nature of it all. Construction worker Deke Weems thinks The Silver Dollar is sinful and clashes with Chick. Business falls off and May tries to ruin Deke's reputation by kissing him. He apologises for judging her too harshly and departs. May and Chick realise they love each other.

Peter decides to sell out and leave town; Linda apologises to him and they reconcile.

Her parents are disappointed: they knew Ted’s scheme was “kind of test to see whether your love for him or your social pride was more important!” Beth changes her mind and tracks down Ted to marry him.

Synopsis: Tomboy Dot quits her job as a waitress to join Duke’s “Roller Riot” (roller derby) team. She makes friends with Bill, the men’s team captain, but fellow skater Cora is jealous of the attention Duke is paying to Dot. After a skirmish, Duke assigns Cora to another team, and promotes the feud between the two women. Dot’s injured in a match and learns Duke—who is married—made love to both Cora and Dot to foment their enmity. Dot and Bill retire from roller skating to get married and live on his farm.

However, when Ted suggests Laura turn a blind eye when her uncle has an attack, she rejects him and helps save the patient. Ted is disinherited and Laura will marry Frank.
