Synopsis: Gail schemes to make her wealthy high school boyfriend Ron propose to her before he’s inducted into the Army. They elope but keep it a secret from everyone. While Ron is gone, Gail gets an office job in another town and falls in love with her boss Frank. Ron is killed in action and his last wish is that she be given his Medal of Honor. Frank realises Gail was married to someone else all the time she was dating him, and breaks up with her.

She thinks Ted will be angry but he says he loves her even more now.

Synopsis: Laurie’s parents are too busy to give her love and affection. Even though she doesn’t love fellow student Bill, she continues to date him because he has a close-knit family and she basks in that atmosphere. When nosy neighbours think Laurie and Bill are “misbehaving,” Laurie confesses that she’s been “using” Bill so she could enjoy his family—but then realises she actually does love him after all. Bill chastises Laurie’s parents for their neglect, but everything is happily resolved and Bill and Laurie become engaged.

Synopsis: Office worker Connie is hired as a roller derby skater and is trained by Don, but she rejects his romantic overtures to concentrate on her career. However, she makes an exception for wealthy Michael: they date and fall in love. Connie later catches Michael with another woman, and he says he was only dating Connie because his father wanted him to be with “down to earth” young women. Connie returns to the the roller derby and to Don, the man she really loves.
