Richmond notes that this is one of six Gollub paintings identified and represented with a photograph of the original painting appearing in Edgar Rice Burroughs Library of Illustration Vol. 2.

Synopsis: Tarzan learns that Prince Keelim of Lutor has been taken by the bolganis of Athne. As he speeds to Keelim's rescue, he encounters a troop of terribs. Tarzan manipulates the terribs and bolganis into fighting each other and frees all the bolgani captives.

The tree is a bee tree and a honey guide, a small bird, brings Wandoro warriors to kill the buffalo and free the boys.
