STORY DETAILS
Characters: Dick Tracy; Pat Patton; Themesong; Shoulders; Roach
Synopsis: Tracy meets a young girl who is unknowingly creating diversions for pick-pockets, one of whom is her father. When Shoulders injures Themesong with a lamp, her father goes to her aid and is killed by Shoulders. Tracy uses his two-way radio to broadcast messages to Themesong's radio to get her to talk to the police. Tracy is lured to an apartment, where he is injured. Shoulders shoots Themesong and flees. Attempting to leave in a private plane, Shoulders crashes into a gasoline storage tank. Themesong is taken to a hospital where doctors are able to save her life.

Notes: Page 1 is an text introduction for this story plus an introductory splash for this story. The splash page is a reformatted reprint of the splash page from Dick Tracy Comics Monthly #43. Several panels have been altered to conform to the Comics Code Authority. Page 2, panel 5: Pick-pocket tool outline has been removed but the color remains. Page 3, panel 6: Blood removed hood's cheek. Page 4, panel 1: Changed from a title panel to one with a caption. Page 6, panels 2, 3, and 7: Strap outline has been removed, but the color shape still remains. Page 6, panels 10, 11 and 12: Outline of jack handle has been removed. Color shape still remains. Page 6, panel 11: "Who tried to run a jack handle through my skull" removed from word balloon. Page 11, panel 6: Panel redrawn to show Themesong dodging a lamp thrown by Shoulders. It hits her in the face in issue 43. Panel is black and white. Page 11, panel 7: Gun in Shoulders' right hand is opaqued but color still prints. Gun is back in his hand in the next panel. Page 13, panel 1: Dick Tracy logo has been changed to a descriptive caption. Page 14, panel 6: Panel has been redrawn to show Dick Tracy being hit in the by a closed fist. In the original, Tracy is hit with the butt of an automatic. This panel is in black and white. Page 14, panel 12: "If you don't want your head blown off" deleted from the word balloon.
