STORY DETAILS
Characters: Timmy; Jody (a school friend); Lassie; Skipper (Jody's pup); Hobo man
Synopsis: Timmy and Jody with Lassie and Skipper investigate a spider-infested, bat-infested, musty-smelling haunted house where a dim light was seen. Jody trips on Skipper's leash, ties him to the sofa leg. A creaking door. Thump. Clink! Clank! Lassie runs upstairs and disappears. Timmy finds her wrapped in a blanket in an old chest. Lassie reveals the hobo man squatter, the oil lamp falls, set's hobo's coat afire; he runs outside, jumps in the pond, explains to the boys. Lassie braves the conflagration; frees Skipper. The hobo skedaddles. The boys will call the Fire Department.
