Al Avison, Rudy Palais, John Sink, and Tom Gill - Original Art for Witches Tales #1, Complete Book (Harvey, 1951). Truly a rare opportunity, offered here is the complete interior art to the first issue of Harvey's infamous Witches Tales. Included is "The Monster of Mad Mountain," an 8-page story by Al Avison, "Voodoo Vengeance," six pages by Rudy Palais, "Launched in Blood," a seven-pager by the vastly-underappreciated John Sink, and "The Dead Won't Die," five pages of Tom Gill goodness. There's also a one-page strip, "Ghosts of Famous Pirates," by Tom Hickey. An interesting note: The John Sink, Tom Hickey, and Tom Gill stories were originally signed by the artists, but the signatures have been whited-out. It seems there was a policy against identifying artists at Harvey in the 1950s. The pages measure approximately 19" x 14.5" overall, and are all in excellent condition. Horror art from this period is very desirable, and complete books rarely come to market. This could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Al Avison, Rudy Palais, John Sink, and Tom Gill - Witches Tales #1, Complete Story Original Art, Group of 5 (Harvey, 1951). John Romita Sr. - Original Cover Art for Adventure into Fear #22 (Marvel, 1974). It's Living Vampire vs. Cantankerous Cat Demon, as the requisite scantily-clad female cowers in the foreground! Beautifully rendered by John "Ring-a-Ding" Romita Sr., this is a fabulous example of the best of Marvel's Bronze Age. In very good condition, there is a stat missing from the left edge, and a corresponding glue stain. Logos and type are all stats, but all the rest is wonderfully original. Here's one you can really sink your teeth into!

John Sink - Witches Tales #3, Complete 6-page Story "The Puppets That Became Men" Original Art (Harvey, 1951). This creepy yarn features a pre-Code hanging splash, complete with gruesome dialogue. It's the old revenge "story hook," as tiny Asian immigrants are disguised as marionettes and then mistreated by their employer-owner. The crazy fool! He killed the goose that laid the golden egg. John Sink adds Oriental filigrees to his detailed storytelling. From Harvey pre-Code horror to wholesome Boy's Life illustrations, that's the career path John Sink took after the Comics Code Authority cracked down on the funnybooks. The artboards measure 14.25" x 19.5"; the splash page art extends to the bottom edge of the page, while the remaining pages feature an image area of 12" x 18". All pages are in Excellent condition, with only minor discoloration evident along the page borders.

But it's not Arlene who's been writing them, it's her roommate, Cora! This tale of pen-pals, and heartbreak was drawn by John Sink.
