Rube Goldberg - Cartoonist Illustration Original Art (undated).
Rube Goldberg's cartoons are incredible displays of ingenuity, detailed logic, physics and satire. In this pen and ink, he pokes fun at his own profession -- cartooning -- with equal amounts of humor and pathos. The image area measures 9.5" x 9". Some overall aging is apparent; otherwise the condition is Excellent. Signed by Rube Goldberg at the lower right.

Al Capp - Small Change Sunday Comic Strip Original Art, dated 11-26-44 (U. S. Treasury, 1944).
Buy war bonds! The message was crystal clear in this Al Capp feature that ran during World War II. The Sunday has an image area that measures 22.5" x 14.5". The page was cut between each panel tier (and later taped together on the back), the title logo shows paper aging; otherwise the art is in Very Good condition.

Martin Branner - Winnie Winkle Sunday Comic Strip Original Art (Chicago Tribune, 1923).
The Rinkeydinks' thirty dollar treasury makes its way through the entire Winkle household in this hilarious Sunday. Beautifully designed art by the talented Martin Branner. This Sunday has an image size of 16.5" x 23". The page was cut between panel tiers three and four, and there are a few small stains; otherwise, the art is in Very Good condition. The vellum color guide overlay is include in this lot, and it is also in two pieces.

George Herriman - Embarrassing Moments Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 6-11 (King Features Syndicate, circa 1930).
Bernie Burns's hot date at the movie theater turns out to be a snore-fest. The panel has an image area of 7" x 7". The art is in Fair condition; there are numerous (at least seven cuts through the surface of the paper, as though someone had used it for a cutting board), some staining to the left edge and some general wear.

King Kong Movie Poster Recreation Original Art (undated).
Here's a beautiful, highly detailed recreation of the 1933 movie style "B" one-sheet, also known as the "Organ Grinder" version. The origins of the piece are unknown, although we suspect this was created in South America sometime within the past 20 years. The art is on heavy paper measuring 27" x 41", and is mounted on a larger piece of board. Excellent condition.

John Prentice (attributed) - True Bride-To-Be Bride Romances #20, Complete 5-page Story "For Better - For Worse" Original Art (Harvey, 1956).
In the days before the women's liberation movement of the seventies caught on, or when the inflation of the nineties made a double income a necessity, it was hard for most men not to feel humiliated when their wives earned more than they did. Adolf Hitler appears on the symbolic splash for "Fortunes for Four," a Golden Age war time thriller. The Boy Heroes help bombers take out the oil fields at Ploesti, exactly as foretold by a gypsy fortune teller. Page ten is missing from this incomplete story, and the image area of each page measures 13" x 18".
