Heritage Presents a "Tracy-Trove" of a Collection!

Dallas, Texas: Dick Tracy, America's favorite lawman, will be featured in a special collection to be offered in Heritage Comics Auction's (HCA) upcoming Signature Sale, to be held October 1-3, 2004, in their Dallas, Texas offices.

"This collection, totally focused on Chester Gould's legendary detective Dick Tracy, is one of the most complete character-based collections I've ever seen," said Ed Jaster, HCA's Director of Acquisitions. "It's all here, from early original newspaper strip art, to vintage collectibles, to more modern toys spotlighting Warren Beatty's depiction of Tracy."

"Larry Doucet was an incredibly dedicated collector," continued Jaster. "He focused on Dick Tracy, and managed to put together an assemblage of material that is really astounding. If an item had anything to do with Tracy or his supporting cast, chances are it's in Doucet's collection."

Highlights of the sale include the Mile High Copy of Four Color #1, featuring Dick Tracy, CGC graded VF+ 8.5 with off-white to white pages, the Dick Tracy Squad Car No. 1 Pedal Car made by the Murray Company in the early 1950's, a set of Camillus Cutlery Dick Tracy Glow in the Dark Pocket Knives on Original Display Card from 1950, an extremely rare Whitman Dick Tracy 11" x 14" paint book, in NM condition, from 1935, a stunning piece of original art from early in the daily strip's run, dated 9-22-32, and the exceptionally hard-to-find 1933 Dick Tracy World's Fair Star-Shaped Tie Tack.
