Fantastic Original Cover Art to be Offered at Auction!

Dallas, Texas: Marvel's First Family, the Fantastic Four, have been graced by some of the finest artists in the industry during their decades-spanning history. However, by far the best, at least in the eyes of their many fans, was the team of co-creator Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott, the man many consider to be "The King's" greatest embellisher.

"In the years that Heritage has been presenting the finest in comic artwork, we've only offered one other Kirby/Sinnott FF cover," said Ed Jaster, Vice-President of Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries. "This is not only due to the scarcity of covers by this team supreme, but also because, once acquired, collectors are loath to give up a treasure of this type."

The cover, which dates to April 1969, shows the entire team (with Crystal of the Inhumans subbing in for the then-pregnant Susan Richards) under the influence of Dr. Doom's brainwashing devices, and being attacked by a bevy of killer robots.

"This is a sensational masterwork by the artistic team that catapulted the Fantastic Four to the heights of comic book superstardom," said Jaster. "I'd recommend that anyone with even the slightest interest in this piece bid early and often, as the opportunity to own a piece of this quality may not come again for a very long time."
