Description

Dave Cockrum and Bob Wiacek Uncanny X-Men #156 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1982). While this scene is similar to the previous issue's well-known cover, compare the two -- this splash is more focused, and many would say more dramatic! Thanks to the dastardly Deathbird, Colossus is in dire straits here. We had forgotten that that Tigra guest-starred in this issue -- the X-Men had sought the Avengers' help and the lovely werewoman was the only hero in residence at the time. Of course Corsair, Cyclops, Wolverine, and Storm are on hand as well. A bonus tidbit courtesy of Cockrum that's hard to see in the printed comic: the street sign puts them at 57th and Madison, where the Marvel offices were located. Image area is 9.75" x 15". Aside from some light overall paper aging, the art is in Excellent condition. Cockrum signed the page at the lower center.
