Description

Chamber of Chills #19 (Harvey, 1953) CGC NM+ 9.6 Cream to off-white pages. This classic Lee Elias cover was used in an homage as the cover image for the horror-punk rock band The Misfits' single "Die, Die My Darling", and this is the single highest-graded copy of the issue on CGC's census. The fact that we recently auctioned the original cover art to this issue for $174,000 shows what a key issue this is in the minds of horror collectors. Bob Powell, Howard Nostrand, Joe Certa, and Jack Sparling provided the interior art. We expect some heavy competition for this pre-Code horror prize! Overstreet 2021 NM- 9.2 value = $7,000. CGC census 11/21: 1 in 9.6, none higher. From the Black Cat Collection.

CGC Grader Notes:
Center Front Cover Small Stress Lines Breaks Color
Left Top Back Cover Small Chip Out
