ThunderCats Lion-O Production Cel (Rankin-Bass, c. 1985-89). "Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats, HO!" You'll feel the magic and hear the roar, with this dynamic original production cel of Lion-O holding the Sword of Omens from the iconic series ThunderCats! Lion-O has long been considered a gay icon in the LGBT community. From his armor that peculiarly showed off his perfectly toned abs to the Sword of Omens that suspiciously seems to elongate every time he yells, "Thunder", fans have speculated that ThunderCats seemed to deliver episode after episode of gay subtext. Leader of the ThunderCats team, Lion-O is ready for action, his three-quarters figure measuring 5" x 5.75" with the Sword of Omens on full display. The 12 field cel bears a production code in the top right and has been placed on a print background for display purposes. A great image of an iconic 1980s cartoon hero, this lot is not to be missed! With typical studio handling and edge wear including pinpoint spots of paint wear/loss and light fading/wear to the linework with areas of professional restoration, overall this valiant cel is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
