ThunderCats Mumm-Ra Production Cel (Rankin-Bass, c. 1985-89). Ominously emerging from the shadows within the Black Pyramid, Mumm-Ra makes a villainous appearance in this original production cel from the beloved 1980s series ThunderCats. Co-produced by Rankin-Bass Animated Entertainment with the animation created in Japan by studio Pacific Animation Corporation, ThunderCats was a sensational series that followed and improved upon the sci-fi/fantasy formula He-Man and the Masters of the Universe popularized earlier in the decade. The demon-priest Mumm-Ra is bound to godlike entities known as the Ancient Spirits of Evil in everlasting servitude of their bidding. His mummified figure measures an impressive 5.5" x 5.5" on the 12 field cel, which bears a production code in the top right and has been placed on a print background for display purposes. An iconic animated 80s villain, this cel is a must-have for any fan of the classic series. With typical studio handling and edge wear including minor fading to the linework, light surface debris, and some studio art corrections painted on the topside of the cel, overall this heinous villain is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
