ThunderCats "Exodus" First Episode Lion-O and Snarf Production Cel (Rankin/Bass, 1985). "You did it... with the sword?" "Well, the sword kind of did it for me." Snarf curls close to Lion-O in this outstanding production cel from "Exodus" - the very first episode of the ThunderCats series! We have never seen a production cel from this premiere episode, so don't miss your chance! The hit show was animated by the Japanese studio Topcraft and improved on the formula that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe established. The episode aired on 1/23/85, introducing audiences to these beloved characters as mutants attack their ship for the Eye of Thundara and they are forced to flee into the unknown depths of space. It was initially broadcast as a feature-length pilot with "The Unholy Alliance" that contained a 'lost intro' to the series. This beautifully rendered hand-painted cel can be found at about 12:40 after Lion-O defeats a group of mutants with the sword, explaining how he wielded its power. The two are centered on the 10.5'' x 9'' cel and measure about 9'' x 7'', displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes.
