Description
ThunderCats Lion-O Production Cel (Rankin-Bass, c. 1985-89). "Sword of Omens, I command you!" Ready to feel the magic and hear the roar, offered here is a spectacular original production cel featuring Lion-O holding the Sword of Omens from the iconic series ThunderCats! Animated by Japanese studio Topcraft, which would later become Pacific Animation Corporation, and co-produced by Rankin-Bass Animated Entertainment, ThunderCats was a 1980s hit animated series which followed and improved upon the sci-fi/fantasy formula popularized a few years earlier by He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Leader of the team, Lion-O is ready for action, his waist-up figure hand-painted to 6.5" x 6.5" with the Sword of Omens on full display. The 12 field cel is numbered A10 in the upper right and has been placed on a print background for display purposes. With typical studio handling and edge wear including minor surface debris, small areas of paint wear, and minor linework fading with areas of restoration, overall this valiant hero is in Good to Very Good condition.Auction Info
