Description
ThunderCats WilyKit, WiliKat, and Cheetara with Tygra and Panthro on Thunder-Tank Production Cel (Rankin-Bass/Topcraft/Pacific Animation Corporation, c. 1985-89). Offered in this lot is an outstanding hand-painted production cel showcasing five of the unforgettable characters of the '80s animated show ThunderCats. The hit show was animated by the Japanese studio Topcraft in the first season, and Pacific Animation Corporation in the subsequent ones. ThunderCats is known for improving on the sci-fi/fantasy formula established by He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The three-layer 12-field cel shows WilyKit and WilyKat on a Space Board, Tygra and Panthro aboard the Thunder-Tank, and Cheetara running nearby, all sharing a stupendous joined image size of 7.75" x 3.75". This cel is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, taped to it with archival artist tape. Some fading can be seen on the linework. In Very Good condition with mild handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
