Description
ThunderCats Lion-O Production Cel (Rankin-Bass/Topcraft, c. 1985-89). "Sword of Omens, give me sight beyond sight." Brandishing his sword, Lion-O is ready for battle in the 10.5'' x 9'' production cel from the action-packed series ThunderCats. The series was produced by Rankin-Bass with the animation done by TopCraft. The studio would soon split into Pacific Animation and Studio Ghibli in June of 1985 and the animation would be continued by Pacific Animation. It was one of the most popular animated series at the time and remains a beloved piece of animation to many today. Lion-O, the Lord of the ThunderCats, gave everyone someone to root for as he matured, learned how to use his abilities, came into his own to defeat the evil mummified sorcerer Mumm-Ra. Incredibly detailed with a perfect pose, Lion-O measures about 8.75'' x 7'' on the cel and is displayed on a print background for presentation purposes. The cel is noted B1 in the upper right corner and is in Very Good condition with only light edge and handling wear and minor fading of the linework.Auction Info
