Description
ThunderCats Panthro, WilyKit, and WilyKat Production Cel with Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Rankin-Bass/Topcraft, c. 1985-89). Panthro's get-up-and-go, never-say-die personality serves as a great motivator for other members of the team, particularly the Thunderkittens WilyKit and WilyKat. Presented in this lot is an outstanding original production cel from ThunderCats, 1985 hit animated series, featuring three members of the titular team. This hand-painted production cel is composed of two layers, the top features Panthro's character measuring 3.5" x 7" with the lower featuring the Thunderkittens both averaging a similar size of approximately 2.5" x 4.5". The cel comes paired with its matching original production drawings on 12 field animation papers, both rendered in graphite and colored pencils. Panthro's cel layer and drawing include the production code B2 while the Thunderkittens' reads A2, each in the upper right corner. The lot shows light handling wear from production including minor fading to the cel's Xeroxed linework and slight paint cracking to WilyKit's hair, and faint paint transfer on the drawings.
