Description
ThunderCats Cheetara Production Cel with Custom-Painted Background (Rankin/Bass, c. 1985-89). From the animated series ThunderCats, we have in this lot a great hand-painted production cel of the fastest member of the team, Cheetara, wielding her baton. Created by Tobin Wolf and produced by Rankin/Bass, this famous '80s show featured animation in its first season by Topcraft, the studio that produced Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, with later seasons done by Pacific Animation Corporation, also known as Wald Disney Animation Japan. This fantastic image of our character shows a figure size of 8.75" x 6.75" on the 12-field cel, numbered A6 in the top right corner, offered on a custom-painted background rendered in gouache on a 14.5" x 10.25" board. The cel is taped to the background with archival artist tape on the top edge. Light fading is present on the cel's linework. With minor handling and edge wear from production, the lot's condition is Very Good.Auction Info
