Description
ThunderCats Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, WilyKit, and WilyKat Pan Production Cel (Rankin-Bass/Topcraft, c. 1985-89). Animated by Japanese studio Topcraft, which would later become Pacific Animation Corporation, and co-produced by Rankin-Bass Animated Entertainment, ThunderCats was a 1980s hit animated series which followed and improved upon the sci-fi/fantasy formula popularized by He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Presented in this lot is an absolutely expansive hand-inked, hand-painted pan production cel featuring five members of the ThunderCats team, Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, WilyKit, and WilyKat. Though uncommon, this cel was hand-inked during the animation production to better define the line work making its detail spectacular. The group's waist-up figures all share a massive, combined image size of 15" x 7", wow! The production codes 341 and D3 are visible along the top edge of the pan cel. The lot shows light handling wear from production including minor smudging to the linework of WilyKit and light creasing away from the image area. Overall, Very Good condition.Auction Info
