Description

Rich Buckler and Joe Sinnott Giant-Size Super-Stars #1 Fantastic Four - Thing vs. Hulk Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1974). It's the fight of the century! The Thing and Hulk battle it out -- in the center ring at Madison Square Garden! Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch (Johnny Storm), and Medusa watch the two titans exchange blows on this cover to the first Marvel comic to use the "Giant-Size" moniker in the title. Even though this is the only Giant-Size Super-Stars (changes to Giant-Size Fantastic Four with Issue #2), this earth-shaking premiere led to years of Marvel "giant-size" spectaculars. Ink over graphite on cover stock Bristol board with an image area of 10.25" x 15". Slight toning, stat logo/header, text, and taped spine paste-ups, adhesive staining from missing paste-ups ("New! The Wildest Thing vs. Hulk Battle Of All! And wait'll you find out who wins!"), holes in the top left corner, abrasions/small tears along the edges, note from Buckler to inker Joe Sinnott in the top margin, blue pencil production marks, whiteout corrections, with staining and creasing/handling wear. Signed by the art team (as "Rich & Joe") in the lower right image area. In Good condition.
