"The Magic Lantern Theatre" Baltimore Inner Harbor and Pratt Street Power Plant Revitalization Project for Six Flags "Power Plant Live!" - Pair of Original Character Costume Designs by Disney Legend Marc Davis - Pen and Marker on 18" x 16" and 10" x 10 Paper Mounted to Board - Created for Landmark Entertainment (LEG, 1983). This impressive pair of original costume concept designs was created by Disney Legend Marc Davis for The Magic Lantern Theater at Six Flags' Power Plant, part of Baltimore's 1983 Inner Harbor and Pratt Street Power Plant revitalization project. Rendered in ink and color marker on 18" x 16" and 10" x 10" paper, mounted to board, and signed by Davis, the artwork showcases Landmark Entertainment Group's bold vision for cinematic, immersive entertainment. Opened in 1985, the Six Flags Power Plant was Landmark's ambitious experiment in bringing theme park-style attractions to an urban waterfront setting. The Magic Lantern Theater was one of its centerpiece experiences, blending film, projection mapping, lighting effects, and surround sound in a dazzling multi-image spectacle. Davis's costume concepts embody the theatrical flair needed to bring this multimedia attraction to life. Marc Davis (1913-2000) was among Walt Disney's most influential animators and Imagineers, shaping classic characters such as Tinker Bell, Cruella de Vil, and Maleficent, and later contributing to Disneyland attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean. His wife, fellow Disney Legend Alice Davis, was renowned for her costume designer, and her influence can be seen in the richness of these concepts.
