Æon Flux "Leisure" Aeon Flux and Alien Production Cel with Key Master Background (MTV Animation, 1992). An Alien creature interrupts Æon's escape in this lot, featuring a rare and astonishing Key Master setup from the Æon Flux short episode "Leisure," showcasing the signature of the acclaimed series creator and director, Peter Chung. This thrilling short featured our eponymous character on a personal errand, infiltrating an alien ship to steal more eggs after hers got eaten by Trevor Goodchild, with this image appearing at the 2:43 timestamp, as the alien activates a tramp to slow her down. The intricate setup shows an incredible overlay for the tunnel, created in gouache on background board trimmed for the entrance and showing a 12-field three-layer cel with the trap, similar to the obstacle course seen at the beginning of the episode. Also presented is the 12-field two-layer cel showing a 3.25" Æon running in full figure with the 1.25" Alien on the back, both on the Key Master Background done in gouache on a 15.25" x 10" background board with a cel overlay displaying the linework. The top layer of the cel showing the tramp is signed by Chung in the bottom right area, and it is taped to the overlay by the sides. The cel of Æon, the Alien, and the linework overlay are taped to the background. The overlay is taped to the cel with archival artist tape. The overall condition is Very Good with mild handling and edge wear from production.From the Personal Archive of Æon Flux Director Peter Chung.
