Description

Kaare Andrews Detective Comics #1000 Batman and Catwoman Variant Cover Original Art (DC, 2019). This striking variant cover for a landmark issue of Detective Comics perfectly captures the eternal entanglement between the Bat and the Cat, symbolized by Catwoman's whip coiling around the lovers in a moment of intimate tension. Kaare Andrews conveys the complexity of their bond -- hero and sometimes-villainess, brooding protector and unpredictable antihero -- in a composition that radiates romantic conflict. Used as the exclusive Third Eye Comics variant cover for the issue, this piece was rendered in pure graphite on thick paper with an image area of 13" x 19.5". Whiteout highlights and light smudging present. Signed in the lower right and in Excellent condition.
