All Detective Magazine #12 October 1933 (Dell) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Off-white pages. Norman Saunders' first ever pulp cover has all the elements collectors look for: a hypodermic needle, a nearly nude blonde, and a smattering of mad science all culminating in the shape of a skull. Saunders was responsible for a total of 867 pulp covers, by far the most prolific contributor who ever worked in the business and the craftsmen most responsible for the enduring images that we consider classic pulp covers. This issue in particular holds one of those classics, sporting a skull cover on par with Punch Comics #12. As with many great skull covers, the cover has a black background rarely seen in such sharp condition. Further features include an Erle Stanley Gardner story. Bookery's lists as "uncommon".
