Description

Jack Sparling Turok, Son of Stone "The Trail of the Dragon's Teeth" Unpublished Complete 10-Page Story Original Art (Western, c. 1980s). Andar recalls one of Turok's recent survival lessons -- leaving corn kernels to mark a trail -- and discovers the veteran has upgraded the trick for the Lost Valley. This time the path is lined with something no critter will steal, a grisly breadcrumb trail that leads Andar just in time to save the day in this unpublished complete story written by Paul S. Newman. Newman and Jack Sparling were frequent Turok collaborators during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and this story appears to come from the later part of that period. Ink over graphite on Bristol boards with image areas of 10.25" x 14.75". Light toning, with staining, discolored title paste-up, Panel 2 of Page 5 is a discolored art paste-up, stat logo and copyright paste-ups, whiteout corrections, smudging/soiling, light blue marker editorial marks, and handling wear. Signed by writer Paul S. Newman in the top margin of the first page, and presumably personalized to artist Jack Sparling, signed with an indistinct name, in the top right corner of Page 1. Overall, in Very Good condition.
