Description

Art Bartsch Mighty Mouse Comics #6 "Stolen Power" Story Page 6 Original Art (St. John, 1948). Billy and Bobby get the kind of "autograph" no fan would ever ask for after their horseplay with Mighty Mouse's cape lands it in the scheming paws of Fisheye Fox. In this early Golden Age comic-book outing, the cape briefly proves to be the source of Mighty Mouse's gift of flight. But not even stolen airpower is enough to save Fisheye once the hero gives chase and simply waits for the exhausted fox to drop on this final page from "Stolen Power". Adding a nice bit of pedigree, artist Art Bartsch was not only a Mighty Mouse comics illustrator but also a veteran of the original Terrytoons animation studio. Twice-up scale in ink over blue pencil and graphite on illustration board with an image area of 12" x 17.75". Toning, with heavier toning on the edges, whiteout touch-ups, light smudging, light marginal staining, and corner/edge wear. In Very Good condition.
