X: The Movie Arashi Production Cel with Master Background (Madhouse, 1996). Arashi Kinshu, the powerful Dragon of Heaven, wields her sword in this incredible lot, offering a rare hand-painted Master setup from the anime film X: The Movie. An ambitious production directed by the legendary Rintaro, this movie was released on 8/3/1996 and is based on the popular manga by Clamp, following Kamui Shiro as he is pulled into a war between the Dragons of the Heavens and the Dragons of the Earth. The gorgeous cel shows Arashi as she appears at the 1:12:05 timestamp, showing astounding detail on her sword and hair, measuring an enormous image size of 13.25" x 8". Pausing the film at about the 1:12:06 mark will reveal the splendid Master background, rendering in great detail the roofed shopping district where Arashi fights Fuma, done in gouache on a 14.5" x 10.25" background board. Some fading can be seen on the cel's linework. The cel is taped to the background with archival artist tape. The background is numbered 1023 in the top right corner, showing a pinhole in that area and toned tape on the bottom right edge. Presenting overall mild handling and edge wear from production, the lot is in Very Good condition.More information about Madhouse Artist.
