Description
Akira Neo-Tokyo Production Background (Tokyo Movie Shinsha, 1988). The skyscrapers of Neo-Tokyo look formidable in this splendid hand-painted production background from Akira. Numbered 1369 in the top right corner, this background can be seen at the 1:07:47 mark of the movie, during the tense scene with a government official trying to apprehend Colonel Shikishima, only for this move to backfire on him. The detail in this piece of production art is remarkable, as we can see inside some of the windows in the buildings closest to us, all rendered thoroughly in gouache on a 14.25" x 10" background board. Pinholes can be seen on the top corners of the background board. In Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
